Lewie: We limited Ipswich

Dean Lewington reflects on Saturday's draw...

15 February 2022

Dean Lewington talked with iFollow MK Dons, after the game against Ipswich Town concluded 0-0 at Stadium MK.

Both teams shared a point at the final whistle, a result that meant that MK Dons held their third-place position in the Sky Bet League One table.

“We did well and limited them to fairly little,” the MK Dons captain said as he praised the defensive performance against the Tractor Boys, who the skipper described as “one of the best teams in the League.”

A total of six shots on target throughout the match, with only two of them from the opposing away team, demonstrated why Lewington was pleased with the MK Dons defence that limited Ipswich to “fairly little”.

MK Dons look towards their next upcoming fixture which is away to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this Saturday.

A two-point difference separates the third and fourth placed teams, meaning that a victory for MK Dons would increase the gap between themselves and this weekend’s opponents, solidifying that top-three position.

When questioned about the upcoming fixture, Lewington said: “It’ll be a tough game against another big club.

“They have a new manager in now so he will have a week with them to get them going. It’ll be all guns blazing up there so it should be a good game and one we’re looking forward to.”

Dean Lewington and MK Dons take their five-game unbeaten run to the North East this weekend when they take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
