MK Dons’ number one, Jamie Cumming, spoke with press ahead of tonight’s Sky Bet League One fixture against Charlton Athletic.

The Chelsea loanee reflected on his past month with the Dons and expressed how much this loan spell has benefitted him.

He said: “It’s been an easy-going move. There is a great group here and they have all made it so easy for me to settle into this new environment.

“It was a very quick transition; I got a text message from Chelsea calling me back from my loan spell at Gillingham and then, an hour later, they moved me to MK Dons. It happened quite fast but I was happy with it.

“Gillingham prepared me for one side of the game but I believe transferring to the Dons has helped me prepare for what I would experience at the elite level.

“It’s about staying focused throughout the 90 minutes. When the time arrives for me to make my contribution, I must make sure I do that successfully.”

Cumming added: “It’s been going well so far, hopefully that is something that will continue”

When questioned about this evening’s clash with Charlton, who are currently placed 16th, Cumming said: “I think when a team is mid-table, they can be dangerous to face as there is no real pressure on them to go and get the win.

“They have great talent in their squad and, after their defeat the other day, I’m sure they will be up for the battle which is what we’re expecting.

“It’s about us going to The Valley and implementing our game, in the hope to control it throughout the 90 minutes played.

“It’s down to our team spirit . We have great belief within the squad and we know we have a talented squad that can travel to these big clubs and get results.”
