MK Dons Defender Zak Jules shared his thoughts following a 3-0 defeat to Premier League Opposition Leicester City.
The Dons bowed out of the Carabao Cup competition in the Round of 16 after goals from Youri Tielemans, Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy handed the hosts a 3-0 loss at Stadium MK.
“I Feel like it was a tough test, but an enjoyable one” Jules said about the premier league adversary. “It was kind of a free hit I guess - we weren't expected to turn them over, but in cup games anything can happen. It's always nice to compare where you're at in terms of the levels of Premier League opposition, but you could see the difference in quality.
“They played pretty much a full-strength side, with players that you see in the Premier League every week. In the end, it was a respectable score-line and I feel like we did ourselves proud.”
Zak Jules, as well as his teammates return their focus to the league to take part in their Boxing Day clash against Forest Green Rovers, who are separated from the Dons by two points.
When questioned about the Boxing Day fixture, the number 33 replied “It's a big one but I feel like all the games will be big for us because we're not where we want or should be.
“Every game, whoever we're playing, is a big game because there are a lot of points to pick up. If we can get some consistency and put together a string of results, things can change so quickly. That's down to us as players.
“It’s business time now, all eyes are on the league. We need to get points on the board.”
MK Dons return to Sky Bet League One action on Boxing Day when they face Forest Green Rovers in an important clash at Stadium MK.
