Jon Goodman to leave role as Academy Manager

9 December 2022

MK Dons can confirm Jon Goodman has stepped down from his position as Academy Manager.

Goodman joined the Football Club in June 2019 and during his time at Stadium MK, he has overseen the development of several homegrown players, including the likes of Jack Davies, Brooklyn Ilunga, Lewis Johnson, Edward Gyamfi, all of whom have gone on to play senior football for MK Dons.

Chairman Pete Winkelman said: “I am extremely grateful to Jon for his hard work and dedication in his role as Academy Manager.

"During Jon's time with us, he has overseen a huge amount of change - change which has reset the aspirations and ambitions of the Academy and he certainly leaves it in a much better place than when he found it.

"That's all we could have asked for from Jon and I wish him every success in his future career."

Sporting Director Liam Sweeting will lead the process of recruiting a new Academy Manager – a process which will begin immediately.

Sweeting told mkdons.com: “We are thankful to Jon for his work in managing the Academy through a period of change, and for the time and effort he has committed to the Club in his role. We wish him nothing but the best moving forwards.

“My focus now is on recruiting the best possible candidate to lead the Academy into this next chapter, and to ensure that the players, staff and parents have all the support they need through this period of transition.”
