Twine: My most enjoyable season

Scott Twine reflects on Saturday and his first season with MK Dons…

18 April 2022

A 3-2 victory for Sheffield Wednesday saw to it that the Dons 15 game unbeaten run concluded, this defeat meant that Liam Manning’s men dropped to third in the Sky Bet League One table.

Twine’s sensational Free-Kick granted Stadium MK hope that the unbeaten run may continue, unfortunately this wasn’t the case and Wednesday’s three early goals proved crucial to their victory.

When questioned about Saturday's game the number nine said: “We were very disappointed.

“After their goals we came back into it, but we didn’t do enough to get a point or three.

“15 games unbeaten, the run had to come to an end at some point, hopefully we can bounce back with a win tomorrow.”

The attacking midfielder was then questioned on his League One Player of the Year nomination, Twine responded: “it’s not really something I had thought of, but it’s a nice bonus.

“The main focus though is Oxford tomorrow, hopefully I’ll score, and we’ll get the win.”

Finally, having achieved 16 goals and 13 assists so far in his 2021/2022 campaign, Twine was asked about his MK Dons experience, as he nears the end of his first season with the club. The player of the year nominee had this to say:

“Everyone gets on here, all the players, the staff, I’ve never been in a changing room that’s happy all the time.”

“I’ve loved it, it’s been my most enjoyable season in professional football.”
