Loan watch: Jules achieved a crucial point

Zak Jules collected a major point, and Brooklyn Ilunga featured 90 minutes…

25 April 2022

Both Jules and Ilunga played a full 90-minute game, the Royston Town forward tasted defeat in their final league match, whereas the centre-half was awarded a pivotal point in their relegation battle.

Zak Jules:

The Fleetwood defender helped his team to secure a vital point against AFC Wimbledon, in their battle to stay within the league. The Cod Army’s substitution Joe Garner equalised in the late stages of the match, firing home a pass from an indirect Free-Kick.

The number four won 70% of his ground duels which helped to ensure AFC Wimbledon didn’t increase their lead, this resulted in Stephen Crainey’s men rising up to one position above the relegation zone, two points off 19th placeholder’s Morecambe.

Brooklyn Ilunga:

Ilunga played another full 90-minute game in Royston’s final game of the season. Unfortunately, the Crows suffered a 3-1 defeat, meaning they finalised their 2021/2022 campaign in eighth place, missing out on the play-offs by six points.
