Twine loving life under Manning

21 September 2021

Scott Twine has become a key cog in Liam Manning’s MK Dons side with the Midfielder stating he’s loving playing for the Dons Head Coach.

Twine netted his third goal of the season on Saturday afternoon as he helped The Dons come from behind to pick up all three points against Gillingham.

The 22-year-old currently has the most Goal Contributions in the Dons squad with five, while he has also created the most big chances with six.

“I'm loving it to be honest, and I think that's down to the gaffe,” Twine told iFollow MK Dons following the full-time whistle in Kent. “I'm enjoying every minute on the pitch and in training - I've loved it and hopefully that's showing on the pitch.

“We're all a young bunch, we all get on, we're always joking and it's a good environment to be in. The main thing is on the pitch, and I think it probably does help and there's the respect there for everyone as well.’”

Twine & Co have enjoyed a successful start to the season having lost just one of their opening eight Sky Bet League One games. Despite sitting third in the table, Twine insists MK Dons aren’t getting carried away and are remaining grounded heading into a busy run of fixtures.

“We won't get ahead of ourselves, we'll train hard, we won't get complacent and hopefully it's the same next week.”

Twine also noted how the depth of the Dons squad can only be viewed as a positive, with competition for places only helping players be at their best.

“The squad is frightening to be fair. The way we look in training, we're all bang at it, we've got the quality to come on and change games and win the games for us.

“It's great for us players because we know we have to perform every week.”
