Hiram: We deserved more

7 September 2021

Despite scoring a late equaliser to earn MK Dons a point against Cheltenham Town, Hiram Boateng says the ultimate feeling is disappointment.

Liam Manning’s side created a number of chances but were unable to find a way past Scott Flinders until the 87th-minute.

Boateng, himself, saw a couple of chances go close within minutes of entering the pitch, before equalising in the late stages.

“We're a bit disappointed to not come away with more,” Boateng told iFollow MK Dons after the full-time whistle “We started slow, controlled the game for large parts so we'd have liked to come away with three points instead of one.

“A point on the road against a decent Cheltenham side, we'll take it and hopefully build on it.”

Boateng has become an important part of Manning’s side and currently boats the best minutes to goal contributions in the side. The midfielder says that although he saw two chances end wide of the goal, his belief in an equalised never wavered.

“I've been enjoying my time on the pitch, and it felt good to get a start last Tuesday and put some more minutes into my legs which I needed.

“As long as I can help the team, that's when I'm happy, contributing with goals or assists, not just my performances. Hopefully, I can keep building and pushing for a starting place.
