Daniel Harvie played a key role in Tuesday’s success over Wigan Athletic, providing the ball for Peter Kioso’s leveller before delivering the cross that was diverted past Ben Amos for what proved to be the match-winning goal.
Harvie, whose four assists are tied for most in the team alongside Troy Parrott, was delighted to have a say in the result – one that saw MK Dons return to winning ways in Sky Bet League One and retain their place inside the play-off spots.
“It was a good away win against a strong side,” the Scot said after the 2-1 victory at the DW Stadium.
“We started well but their goal gave us something to react to. In previous games when we've gone a goal down, it has put us into the next gear and we've gone on and scored two goals from it tonight. It was good to get two goals before half time.
“In the second half, we could have got up the pitch a bit more and caused them a few more problems but away from home, you have to defend your lead and we did that.
“I don't think we sat in but Wigan threw the kitchen sink at it to get that second goal. We defended well, and that's credit to the whole team.”
On contributing to both goals, Harvie said: “It's something we've spoken about - wing-backs getting into those back post areas and causing problems. I think we have got a good understanding that if we can pick someone out there we can score.”
Daniel Harvie and MK Dons are back in action this Saturday when they take on Rotherham United at Stadium MK.
