Mo: Back to winning ways

Striker reflects on Saturday's 4-0 success...

29 November 2021

Mo Eisa was happy to play his part in helping MK Dons return to winning ways in Sky Bet League One.

Eisa, handed his first league start since 30 October, netted the opening goal in Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Morecambe – a cool and composed right-footed finish after showing good feet inside the box.

It took the striker’s goal tally for the season to five but his joy, post-match, was centred around the result, which lifts the Dons back into the Sky Bet League One play-off places.

“It was a great day for the whole team after the loss on Tuesday,” Eisa said in his post-match interview with iFollow MK Dons. “It was good to get back on the scoresheet but the three points were all that mattered.

“We didn't have the best of starts but once we got the goal, we relaxed. We passed the ball around a lot better, and after that early stage, we did what we had to do.

“After Matty's (first) goal, we had real control of the game but they came out in the second half and we were up against it. They changed formation and we had to be good defensively, so H's (Harry Darling’s) goal was crucial.”

Reflecting on his goal, Eisa said: “As soon as I cut inside, and I saw the defender go, the first thing on my mind (was to shoot). I do it all the time in training and, as soon as I had the ball in that position, I knew it was going in the back of the net.

“I'm trying to help the team by scoring as many as I can. That’s my game. Sometimes I know I have to hold up the ball, and I think I did that well, but my main strength is to get the ball in the box and score goals.”
