Laurie Walker kept a second successive clean sheet for Aldershot Town to help them to a 1-0 win over King’s Lynn Town.

Walker, making his fifth appearance for the Shots, pulled off an early fingertip save in the victory, which lifts the Hampshire club up to 18th in the National League.

Elsewhere, Lewis Johnson made his debut for Banbury United in their 2-0 win over Royston Town. Johnson came off the bench with 65 minutes played, shortly after former Don Giorgio Rasulo had doubled the Puritans’ lead.

Jay Bird and Jack Davies were in action for Wealdstone and St. Albans City respectively with both players seeing their sides suffer 4-1 defeats. Bird played 65 minutes while Davies was withdrawn with a quarter of an hour left to play.

There was more joy for scholar Charlie Smith, who played 90 minutes in Kidlington’s 3-2 success away at Colney Heath – a win which moves them four points clear of the relegation places in the Southern League Central Division.
