Kioso: Important to get back to winning ways

Loanee reflects on big away win at Crewe Alexandra...

2 November 2021

Peter Kioso admits MK Dons weren’t at their best during Saturday’s victory at Crewe Alexandra but knows the most important thing is that they secured all three points.

The Dons ran out 4-1 winners at the Mornflake Stadium last weekend as they bounced back from a heavy defeat to Rotherham United and secured their second success in three league games.

“It’s important to get back into the wins column,” the Luton Town loanee told iFollow MK Dons after the match.

“We didn't think we were at our best today, but there have been days we've been a lot better but haven't won so for us to not be at our best and score four, it shows how good we are.

“The boys know that when we're playing against teams that are down there, they'll come and give us a hard time and get in our faces. The gaffer told us to match their intensity and I think we did that.

“It was great to get the three points away from home but we put it behind us now and concentrate on the next one.”

Kioso enjoyed a standout display in Cheshire as he played a part in all four of MK Dons’ goals. Providing the assist for Mo Eisa’s opener before the delivering the cross that led to Matt O’Riley’s second-half strike, he then got himself on the scoresheet with MK Dons’ third and then played through Max Watters to seal the success in stoppage time.

“I can't remember another game in my life when I've done that!” He said.

“I sat down with the Gaffer and he told me he wanted more goals and assists. Working with the staff is helping me improve my game and get better - I came on loan to develop and get better and that's what I'm doing.”
