Fraser 'over the moon' with Players' Player honour

Scottish midfielder enjoyed an excellent first season with MK Dons...

Scott Fraser was ‘over the moon’ to be voted Players’ Player of the Year by his MK Dons teammates, following a successful first season at Stadium MK.

Fraser, who joined the Dons on a free transfer in September, featured 50 times in his debut campaign, contributing to 22 goals courtesy of 14 of his own finishes and eight assists.

Nobody in Sky Bet League One earned more points for their side than Fraser in terms of goals scored, and that influence was not lost on his peers.

“I’m over the moon with this one,” Fraser said after being revealed as Players’ Player of the Year during The Awards 2021.

“If you look around the changing rooms, we’ve got a lot of good players who have played well this season, so for them to vote for me means a lot.”

The Scot continued: “I’ve really enjoyed my time here, from the first day that I came in. The boys have been brilliant with me – as has the manger and all the coaches. They’ve all really helped me to improve this season.

“That’s the biggest thing I can take from this season, that since I’ve come in I’ve been honest about where I need to improve and the Gaffer and Lukey (Williams) have helped me and especially all the boys.”

Looking ahead to next season, Fraser hopes that an improved second-half showing can result in a positive transfer window for the Club and, subsequently, a positive 2021/22 campaign.

“We’re really looking forward to (next season),” he commented. “I just wish there was a few more games left of this season!

“The start that we had gave us too much to do but the run we’ve been on can only bode well for recruitment for next year and showing people how good we can be.”
