Tali Jallow scored from the spot to help Gambia beat Tunisia on penalties and secure third place at the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

The MK Dons scholar came off the bench with 11 minutes left to play in Friday night’s third-place play-off, which was decided via shootout after a 0-0 stalemate in regulation time. It was his first appearance at the tournament.

Jallow stepped up to take Gambia’s third penalty, successfully converting from 12-yards to put the Young Scorpions 3-1 ahead in the shootout. They went on to win 4-2 and claim third place at the tournament – tied for their best ever performance in the competition.
