Boss provides update on duo

Ethan Laird and Josh McEachran both suffered knocks in Tuesday's win...

Russell Martin has provided early injury updates on Ethan Laird, who both picked up injuries in Tuesday’s win over Plymouth Argyle.

Manchester United loanee Laird played through a shoulder problem sustained early in the match while Josh McEachran was replaced at half-time with a neck issue.

“(Ethan) did well to last as long as he did,” Martin said in his post-match press conference following the 2-1 victory at Stadium MK. “He was still quicker than most, even with one arm!

“Ethan gets kicked a lot because he's a threat. He's taken some really physical treatment in the last couple of games, and tonight he landed funny on his shoulder

“I thought he might have to come off, but it was strapped up by Simon Crampton at half time and that kept him going for a bit.

“He was exhausted as well. It's his first loan playing first-team football in a team that demands so much of him, with a lot of physical demand. I think he deserved a break for the last half an hour!

“Josh was fantastic but he played without being able to move his neck to one side because he woke up with a spasm. Crammo managed to release it a little bit but when he went up for a header, it started to spasm again.

“It's surely exciting that he can play like that only being able to look one way!”
