The MK Dons squad were back at Stadium MK on Monday for the start of pre-season training.
Russell Martin’s men had been away since the start of May but, after completing screening and testing last week, returned to work as they began preparations for the 2021/22 campaign.
After a team meeting at Stadium MK, the players headed to Woughton on the Green where they were put through their paces by the Sports Science and Medicine team as well as Russell Martin and his coaches.
Speaking afterwards, captain Dean Lewington said: “It was good to be back out there, touching a football and seeing the boys again.
“It was hard but, as off-seasons are so much different to before and players come back in much better shape than they did years ago, you don’t need to do the old-fashioned running sessions and you can afford to get the balls out earlier.
“That makes it a little bit more enjoyable than just running at all hours of the day.”
