Max Watters says that following his first conversation with Russell Martin he knew he wanted to play for MK Dons.
The Cardiff City loanee says he also done some investigative work of his own, speaking to his friends in the game to find out more about Martin and MK Dons.
“I heard about the interest a few weeks ago and had a few thoughts,” Watters told iFollow MK Dons. “As soon as I spoke to a few people who know a few of the players and Russell – I was sold.
“Russ has told me how the team plays and about the squad. He touched on how he wants me to play and the ambition of the club – it all sounds really good and appeals to me so much.
“Russ showed me clips of how we play and everyone knows how MK Dons play football. We keep lots of possession, that’ll help me out a lot because I like to get in behind and then come short for the ball to keep it.”
The 22-year-old scored 13 goals in 12 Sky Be League Two starts last season with his form earning Watters a move to Sky Bet Championship side Cardiff City.
Watters feels arriving at Stadium MK, in a side that is full of creativity, will only benefit him during his loan spell.
“I’m a quick striker that likes to get in behind, I’m in the box when the ball is coming in, and love to score goals.
“You look at the team we’ve so many players who can create chances for me, I hope I can also provide chances for them to score goals.”
