Scott enjoying pressure

5 February 2021

Scott Fraser has been a joy to watch this season and feels the pressure on his shoulders brings the best out of him.

The 25-year-old has scored seven goals this campaign and is instrumental in creating chances for Russell Martin’s side.

Despite the obvious pressure for someone in his position, Fraser isn't someone to shy away from the limelight.

“It’s something I had a meeting with the Gaffer and Luke a couple of weeks back,” Fraser told the local media. “It’s something I enjoy. I enjoy the thought of the Gaffer, Luke or my teammates looking at me for help - that could be an individual performance to help the team in any way.

“The pressure is something I enjoy and is something I spoke with the Gaffer about before I signed. He sees me as a big signing and a key signing – that made me feel good.

It’s something I like and I feel like I’m a player that can handle that. So far I’ve had a good season and it’s something that I’m looking to build on and keep improving.”

Fraser feels that after a messy middle at the start of the season, MK Dons have now found their groove in the pitch with their impressive performances. Now, Fraser wants to bring consistency with results to start the Dons up the Sky Bet League One table.

“I think consistency is something every team strives for in this league, it’s such a big thing. We spoke about it before the Swindon and Bristol Rovers games when we got back-to-back wins for the first time this season – you could see what it done to the changing room but also the league.

“You win a couple of games in a row and you jump right up the table. It’s frustrating sometimes, we go into games expecting to win, we were in control for the full game against AFC Wimbledon.

“We set out our stall how we want to play, I think we’ve found our consistency in performances, it’s just about picking the results now."
