The Gambia Under-20s fell to a 1-0 defeat against their Moroccan counterparts in their opening game of the Under-20 African Cup of Nations.
Tali Jallow, however, missed the tie due to a light injury he picked up in training prior to the clash. The good news for Tali, however, is that it looks likely he’ll be fit for Friday’s clash with Tanzania.
El Mehdia Moubarik scored the only goal of the game for Morocco as he slotted home from the penalty spot with 26-minutes on the clock.
The defeat leaves the Young Scorpions third in the table after Tanzania suffered a 4-0 defeat to Ghana. The Gambia are currently placed second in the ‘Best Third Placed Teams’.
