Grigg hungry for more Stadium MK success

Will Grigg is hungry for more Stadium MK success, after returning to MK Dons on Deadline Day.

MK Dons completed the loan signing of Sunderland striker Grigg in the final hours on the January Transfer Window, reuniting the Club with their top goalscorer from the 2014/15 season.

Grigg, who netted 22 goals in 50 appearances that campaign, is excited to have another opportunity to pull on the Dons shirt.

“I’m so pleased,” the 29-year-old said in his first interview with iFollow MK Dons since returning to Stadium MK. “I’m really grateful to everyone at the Club for getting it over the line and I’m looking forward to getting going again.

“I absolutely loved my time here (in 2014/15). If we could have made something work (in 2015) we would have but it just wasn’t meant to be. It’s just nice to be back, though.

“The rapport I had with the fans was brilliant. If we could get fans back in the stadium before the end of the season that would be fantastic! I hope the fans are pleased that I’m back and hopefully I can score some goals to put some smiles on their faces.”

Grigg continued: “I’ve had a difficult couple of years but I’m feeling good and training really well. Anyone who knows me from my time here previously knows if you put the ball in the right areas for me, I’ll score goals - I’ve always done that.

"I play football to score goals and win things. I’ve had a few promotions in my time and I’m desperate for success again after some time off the pitch. I’ve got that hunger and I’m desperate to get back out there and score some goals.”

Don’t worry, Grigg didn’t get away without answering the question on every Dons fans’ lips - will see the return of the ‘Griggle’?

“Not sure yet!” he said. “I retired it back then and we haven’t seen it since, but we’ll see!”
