At just 19-years of age, Ethan Laird is playing with a maturity beyond his years under the stewardship of Russell Martin.
Such his is level of performance, it’s easy to forget that Laird is currently amidst his first loan spell and has made just eight professional appearances during his loan spell.
Speaking after the 1-0 win over Hull City, Laird heaped praise upon the Dons squad, while also highlighting their belief in Russ’ philosophy.
“We believe in ourselves,” Laird told iFollow MK Dons. “All the lads know how good we are, and we just want to implement our game whenever we can. I believe in all the players, the ability here is so high, we just need to keep showing it.
“The way we play is high risk but I believe in it – we all believe in it. There’s a high focus on pressing and recovery so I’m glad we held it today, got the clean sheet, and move into next week.
“It’s full concentration, the boss makes sure we keep that throughout the game because any slip and we could lose the game. It’s good though and it’s a learning curve – we always get to learn stuff.
“The way we play is high risk but I believe in it – we all believe in it. There’s a high focus on pressing and recovery so I’m glad we got the win today and the clean sheet.”
