Lewis Johnson marked his first Banbury United start with a goal as he helped the Puritans progress in the Southern League Challenge Cup.
Johnson, who made his debut for Banbury at the weekend, was handed a start for Tuesday’s Southern League Challenge Cup Third Round tie and, with 69 minutes on the clock, fired home a low strike to make it 2-0 and seal the Oxfordshire club’s place in the next round.
Meanwhile, Jack Davies played 90 minutes for Oxford City in their 1-0 victory over Ebbsfleet United.
Davies & Co have now kept four clean sheets in a row in the National League South and sit just one point and one place behind league leaders Dartford.

All of MK Dons loanees will look to feature this weekend for their loan clubs.
In the National League, Laurie Walker’s Aldershot Town host Altrincham while Jay Bird and Wealdstone travel to Bromley.
Jack Davies and Oxford City will look to maintain their excellent form when they visit Hungerford Town on Saturday. Lewis Johnson and Banbury United are also on the road this weekend – they take on St. Ives Town.
