Jack Davies helped Oxford City moved top of the National League South table on Boxing Day.

Davies played the full 90 minutes as the Hoops beat Slough Town 3-2 in front of a record crowd of 1,208 at the Velocity Stadium.

With the score a 2-1, five minutes into the second half, the MK Dons defender made a superb challenge to deny St. Neots striker Alfonso Tenconi as he raced through on goal.

Meanwhile, Laurie Walker and Aldershot Town made it six games unbeaten with a 1-1 draw at home to Woking.

The MK Dons goalkeeper made a string of big saves, including a fingertip stop in the final minute of regulation time to deny Kyran Lofthouse which looked to have secured all three points following a successful Aldershot penalty just four minutes earlier.

However, Woking earned themselves a share of the spoils deep in injury time with a penalty of their own converted by Max Kretzchmar.

The only other loanee whose team was in action on Boxing Day was Lewis Johnson, whose Banbury United side beat Stratford Town. Johnson was an unused substitute for the Puritans.
