Troy Parrott has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their upcoming FIFA 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

The on-loan Tottenham Hotspur striker will join up with his national team on Sunday following this weekend’s Sky Bet League One clash with Accrington Stanley at Stadium MK.

Ireland are set to face Portugal in Lisbon on Wednesday 1 September (7.45pm) before returning to Dublin to take on Azerbaijan (Sat 4 Sep, 5pm) and Serbia (Tue 7 Sep, 7.45pm) both at the Aviva Stadium.

As a result of his call-up, Parrott will miss MK Dons’ Papa John’s Trophy tie with Burton Albion as well as the Sky Bet League One fixture with Cheltenham Town.

The 19-year-old has scored twice in four appearances for MK Dons this season. He currently has six international caps to his name for Ireland.
