Laurie Walker made his return to Boundary Park earlier this week as he joined Oldham Athletic on an emergency loan, while Ryan Holmes made his Kidlington debut.
Walker, who spent three months on loan with Oldham last season, was handed a start against Bristol Rovers having joined Keith Curle’s side earlier in the day.
It was Bristol Rovers, however, who came out on top, as Harvey Saunders netted the only goal in the game. Oldham face Colchester United this Saturday as they look for their first win of the season.
Elsewhere, Ryan Holmes was handed a start as Kidlington faced Aylesbury United. It was the Aylesbury who would come out on top as they ran out 5-2 winners.
