21 April 2021

Three of MK Dons loanees were in action during the latest round of fixtures.

Having joined on Tuesday afternoon, John Freeman made his debut for the Vanarama National League side as they faced promotion-chasing Torquay United.

Freeman played the full 90-minutes as Alan Dowson’s side fell to a 2-0 defeat to the side sitting at the top of the table.

Cambridge United and Hiram Boateng went one step closer to securing promotion out of Sky Bet League Two as they overcame Leyton Orient 4-2.

Joe Ironside opened the scoring for Mark Bonner’s side before Daniel Kemp levelled on the stroke of half-time. Goals from Shilow Tracey and Paul Mullin extended Cambridge’s lead, however, Declan Drysdale scored an own goal to reduce the deficit.

Ironside, however, made sure of the three points as he netted his brace with 80-minutes on the clock. The win leaves Cambridge seven points clear of third with nine points left to play for.

Laurie Walker, meanwhile, was once again impressive between the sticks for Oldham Athletic. He kept a clean sheet as Keith Curle’s side were 3-0 winners over Harrogate Town.
