Loan Watch: Cambridge back on top

19 April 2021

Both Hiram Boateng and Laurie Walker were in action in the latest round of EFL Fixtures.

Cambridge United and Hiram Boateng returned to winning ways as they reclaimed the top spot in Sky Bet League Two.

Declan Drysdale scored the only goal as Mark Bonner's side ran out 1-0 winners over Newport County. The win, combined with Cheltenham Town's loss to Crawley Town, saw The U's go two points clear of second place.

Oldham Athletic fell to a 4-3 defeat against Morecambe. Carlos Mendes Gomes opened the scoring with five minutes on the clock, before Conor McAleny levelled with 39-minutes gone.

Aaron Wildig and Cole Stockton, however, both netted before half-time, with Mendes Gomes converting early into the second-half for his brace.

Oldham made it a close encounter with Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Kyle Jameson scoring late into the second half.

Sam Nombe was not in action for Luton Town.
