Josh: We’re fighting until the end

23 April 2021

Josh McEachran says despite the chance of MK Dons making the play-offs being minimal, the squad wont rest on their laurels.

MK Dons picked up six points in the space of four days and didn’t ship a goal as they overcame Portsmouth and Bristol Rovers respectively.

McEachran hinted that the Dons have set inhouse targets to close out the season, and although he wasn’t going to revel the aims, he did note they are on course to hit them.

“We’ve got three big games left and have targets we want to reach,” McEachran told the local media. “The last two games we have put ourselves on course for them. The reaction to Bristol was impressive because their manager's comments hurt us, we showed we have that purpose and don’t just keep the ball for the sake of it.

“I t was a nice comfortable performance, we weren’t at our best, but I think we can get better. They didn’t have any clear cut opportunities, Lewie made one unbelievable block. It was nice to get a clean sheet again, like we did against Portsmouth to make it two good performances.

“Swindon had a big result against Portsmouth and will have confidence after their result. It’s going to be a really tough game, but we’ll focus on ourselves and if we put in a good performance we’ll be happy.”

For the second time this week, MK Dons face a side battling to avoid the drop when they welcome Swindon Town to Stadium MK on Saturday.

The Robins are currently seven points adrift of safety and would be relegated if they fail to win this weekend.

“I don’t think you can look at them as relegation teams because everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. We are just playing s well as we can at the moment. We are all playing for our places, our futures in the game, Russ is deciding what is happening so we have a lot to play for.

“We are all giving it 100% every game, I’m not sure anyone is any different.”
