Chairman Pete Winkelman has made the following comment, following the sad passing of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh:
“In Milton Keynes, we can never forget Prince Philip, and the honour it was to welcome both His Royal Highness, and Her Majesty The Queen, to our great city to officially open Stadium MK back in 2007.
“We are deeply saddened to hear of his passing and our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal Family at this difficult time.”
The thoughts of everyone at Milton Keynes Dons Football Club are with Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family at this time.
A two-minute silence will be held before Saturday's Sky Bet League One fixture with Ipswich Town, and players, coaching staff and match officials will wear black armbands as a mark of respect.
