Tom Rowley scores the Young Dons' decisive goal...

MK Dons Under-18s picked up their first win of the 2020/21 season on Saturday, courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Northampton Town.

Tom Rowley scored the decisive goal for the Young Dons with 17 minutes remaining, pouncing on a defensive mishap to slam home.

Lee Collier’s side, who were beaten 4-1 by Luton Town in their EFL Youth Alliance League opener last weekend, had chances to go ahead prior to Rowley’s goal but couldn’t capitalise on their dominance.

After finally breaking the deadlock, they were then forced to hold on against a direct Cobblers outfit, with Tom Carter producing some crucial saves and the post also coming to the rescue late on.

The Young Dons sit fifth in the EFL Youth Alliance South East division table, and face third-placed Stevenage next Saturday in Hertfordshire.
