Positive news on Louis Thompson but MK Dons without three defenders due to injury...

Russell Martin will be without a number of defenders for Saturday’s Carabao Cup tie with Coventry City, while midfielder Louis Thompson is also sidelined.

George Williams and Richard Keogh have missed the majority of pre-season due to their respective injuries while Warren O’Hora sustained a concussion during his time on international duty with Republic of Ireland Under-21s this week.

In midfield, Louis Thompson picked up an ankle injury during the friendly with Arsenal and looks set for a short spell in the treatment room. Striker Kieran Agard is also out with a knee problem.

Russell Martin on George Williams…
“George is slowly getting there. He's started running this week, but we'll have to take our time with him. Hopefully he won't be too far off now – maybe another week or two before he's back in with a chance of being in the squad again.

On Richard Keogh…
“Richard Keogh is looking really good. He's having his last set of tests next week which will hopefully give him the green light to return to training with us. He looks really strong and in good condition. We have to hold him back a bit because he's enthusiastic and while we're feeling the same, we can't rush it.

On Warren O’Hora…
“Warren O'Hora got concussed training for Ireland, so he won't be in contention so we will have to move things around.

On Louis Thompson…
“We've got positive news on Louis. He's got a slight ankle ligament strain but it looked a bad one when he did it - he was in so much pain. We all feared the worst and that he was going to be out for a while. It’s healing quickly and we hope he'll be back in three or four weeks so that's good news.”
