MK Dons Women fall to defeat against Derby County

1 September 2020

MK Dons Women played out a 5-3 thriller against Derby County Women on Sunday in their penultimate pre-season clash.

It was a quick start from The Rams who took a 4-0 lead within just 35-minutes, however, the Dons did reduce the deficit before the break as Jade Bell finished off a swift counter-attacking move.

It was the Dons who enjoyed a quick start after the break as Trialist scored with her first touch finishing off a rebound inside the box.

Trialist then scored 10-minutes later with her audacious looping volley beating the Derby keeper and finding the corner of the net.

The Dons were handed the chance to level the scoring as they were awarded a penalty, however, Neal was denied.

With the game approaching 70-minutes, the Women thought they had equalised, with Trialists effort crossing the line. Much to their dismay, the referee didn’t award the goal.

Derby then put the game to bed with five minutes remaining, as their free-kick found the back of the net to conclude a thrilling friendly.
