Matthew Sorinola hopes to continue repaying the faith shown in him by the MK Dons management team.
Sorinola has starred in both of the Dons’ first two matches this season, including a standout display in Tuesday’s EFL Trophy victory over Northampton Town during which he provided an assist and scored a terrific third goal.
The 19-year-old wants to continue impressing whenever he gets the opportunity.
“I’ve never had a management team that believes in me as much as Russ and Luke do,” Sorinola said in his post-match interview with iFollow MK Dons.
“I can’t ask for anything more, to be honest. I’m just thankful for everything they’re doing to help me perform on a matchday and hopefully, I am repaying them.
“There are things I can work on but overall I was happy with my own performance [on Tuesday].
“It felt good [to score my first goal]. It’s something I dreamt of as a kid and it was a very exciting moment for me. I thought I had a chance if it came to me. It did, I hit it and I’m glad it went in.
“I’m happy with the assist as well. I saw Joe slowing down so I made sure I made the run. I saw Reegs at the back post and it was a great finish from him.
“Most important, though, was the win. We needed a win to help us kick on for Saturday. We hadn’t won yet this summer so it was good to get that under our belts and now we can go into Saturday with more confidence.”
