Ben Gladwin believes it's the players who must take responsibility for Saturday’s defeat to Crewe Alexandra and that it’s down to them to respond this weekend at Stadium MK.
The Dons suffered back-to-back league defeats last weekend, losing 2-0 at the Alexandra Stadium courtesy of two first-half strikes from the Railwaymen.
Russell Martin’s side have an opportunity to answer this Saturday when they take on Ipswich Town and Gladwin is confident the group will respond in the correct manner.
“As players, we have to take responsibility [for the Crewe defeat],” MK Dons’ number 7 said in his post-match interview with iFollow MK Dons.
“[The coaches] put so much work into it. The gaffer has brought a brilliant group together and the staff do such good work on the training ground, but as soon as we cross that white line it's on us. We're the only ones who can do anything about it.
“I think we really let ourselves down in the first half. When we conceded the first goal, we dropped off and gave them a fair bit of confidence. We need to respond better than we do, and we've only got ourselves to blame.
“From there we never really recovered. The second half was better, we showed a bit more fight and controlled the game but ultimately it wasn't good enough.”
Gladwin continued: “We'll review the game and we'll move on to Ipswich and focus on that.
“It's really easy to get caught up in the first three results. We're disappointed, of course, but dwelling on it won't help. We can only review it, move on and improve.”
