Russell Martin hopes to add three to four new faces to his MK Dons squad – and is aiming to do so before the Dons kick-off their 2020/21 Sky Bet League One campaign.
MK Dons have signed three new faces this summer, while tying down a number of the squad from last season. Martin, though, wants more additions in time for the trip to Doncaster Rovers on Saturday 12 September.
“I’m pleased with the players we’ve got now but three or more four in and I’ll be happy,” the Dons boss said during an interview with MKFM’s Breakfast Show on Tuesday.
“We’re looking to bring in a striker and also looking at a couple of midfield options. We’re in discussions with a few clubs – hopefully we’ll have some developments on that soon.
“We’re getting close on one signing but the other couple are taking a bit longer because teams don’t want to lose good players.
“Hopefully, over the next couple of weeks, leading up to our first league game, we’ll have players in the building and ready to play for us.”
Russell Martin was speaking on MKFM’s The Breakfast Show, which airs every morning between 6am and 10am. This week, someone from MK Dons will be appearing on the show every morning to preview Saturday’s Carabao Cup tie with Coventry City.
