MK Dons will progress through to the knockout stages of the Papa John’s Trophy as Southern Group C winners.
Russell Martin’s men, who won two of their three group-stage matches, saw their first-place finish secured on Tuesday night after Northampton Town and Stevenage played out a goalless draw at the PTS Academy Stadium.
The Cobblers won the penalty shoot-out to seal second spot and progress as runners-up.
As a result of winning the group, the Dons will host their Round of 32 tie at Stadium MK. They will face a runner-up of a group from the Southern region, but not Northampton Town.
Full draw details are expected to be confirmed in due course. Round of 32 ties are due to be played 8-9 December.
