MK Dons have now kept three clean sheets in their last four competitive fixtures and defender Regan Poole says he’s happy to see the back of the silly goals they were conceding.
Russell Martin’s side have conceded just once in just under 400-minutes of competitive football with Poole an integral part to the success of the defence.
“At the start of the season we were conceding silly goals,” Poole told the media following Sunday’s success at The Silverlake Stadium. “We've got three clean sheets in four games now. It looks like that problem is in the past - now we've got to find the back of the net.
“It was attack versus defence at the end, only one team that looked like scoring. How we didn't score I do not know - if we'd have got one, we'd have got many.
“Credit to Eastleigh, they defended well but we have to start hitting the back of the net. Once we do, we won't stop.”
Poole stepped up for the first penalty of the clash and confidently converted from the spot. The Welsh International also stepped up during the 2019/20 season in the Carabao Cup win over AFC Wimbledon.
“I don’t mind a penalty. I was first to step up, you pick a spot, stick with it and if it hits the net, it hits the net.
“If the keeper makes a great save, there's nothing you can do about it. I was happy to take one, and thank God it found the net.”

Russell Martin's MK Dons now turn their attention to the Papa John's Trophy and Wednesday's tie with Southampton Under-21s at Stadium MK.
The Dons need a point to secure top spot in Southern Group C, after already securing their place in the knockout stages of the competition.
