Glads: We showed how good we can be

16 November 2020

Ben Gladwin believes MK Dons showed another side to their game on Saturday afternoon as they ran out 2-1 winners over Sunderland.

The Black Cats were ahead within 12-minutes as Max Power’s deflected strike found a way past Andrew Fisher.

The Dons, however, displayed their grit to come from behind as goals from Cameron Jerome and Scott Fraser saw Russell Martin’s side pick up all three points.

“I’m delighted,” Gladwin told iFollow MK Dons after the final whistle. “It wasn't our best game but to show we can come away and win a bit nastier puts to bed to questions about whether we can do it or we're a bit soft.

“We have a fantastic way of playing which we believe in, but you have to do the other side of the game. Sunderland are a big club and a good side so we're delighted.

“From the performance today, we showed we aren't soft. It’s not what we want to do every week, we want to get back it playing good football. Having a mixture is really important and we loved it.”

Gladwin’s first-half free-kick was met by Jerome who saw his looping header find a way past Remi Matthews. The 28-year-old had nothing but high praise for Jerome’s header, while he also heaped praise upon Andrew Fisher.

“What a header! What a header. We've got really good aerial presence, so hopefully, we'll score a few more of those and add that to out game.

From the performance today, we showed we aren't soft. It’s not what we want to do every

“Fish was different class, some of his saves were incredible. He has come on so much since I was with him at Blackburn. He's a proper man now, he's taking charge in games and he’s making a huge impact.”
