Russell Martin was left frustrated after his MK Dons were held to a 1-1 draw by AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

Martin’s Dons dominated the Stadium MK contest after Scott Fraser cancelled out Joe Pigott’s early opener, but weren’t able to break their visitors down and were forced to settle for a point.

“We're frustrated not to win,” Martin said in his post-match press conference. “I know Fish has had to pull off two good saves late on but we certainly dominated the game, so I'm disappointed with a draw.

“We should go a goal up after a minute through Cameron Jerome, who is onside. They score from a similar offside call - and he looks more offside than Cammy did. Matthew Sorinola also gets fouled twice for what should be penalties.

“After their goal, we responded really well and de dominated the game. They defended well, so credit to them for that. They came to make it difficult and put bodies behind the ball.

“Teams are making it tough for us at the moment, which is a sign of respect. We just have to find that quality in the final third and we have to be able to break that down.

“When it does happens, though, we have to also make sure that's not enough to beat us and the most pleasing thing for me, was that we did not allow ourselves to get dragged into a game we didn't want it to be.”

Martin added: “When you can’t find a way to win, it’s important not to get beaten. It’s four points from two games and now we have to go and try to win on Tuesday, to make it a good week.”
