Pete Winkelman says Russell Martin has delivered ‘everything he hoped’ since taking over as MK Dons boss.
Martin was appointed manager back in November and during his six months in charge has overseen a change in fortunes for the Dons in terms of performances and, crucially, results.
“Russ is one of the success stories of the year,” the Chairman said while answering questions from supporters on MKFM’s MK Dons Fans Forum.
“I gave him the hardest job in football – I can't tell you how hard it is to come in to a team that is losing and finding a way to turn it around.
“Why I am so impressed with him, is that he has been able to make that difference and that’s why I think we’ve got ourselves a really good manager for the coming years.
“He has delivered everything I hoped he would and I’m looking forward to getting everyone back on the pitch and getting going once again under Russ.”
