Walsh pleased with point in tough conditions

Joe Walsh was happy to come away from Rotherham United with a point given the home sides recent form and the unpredictable windy conditions.

Paul Warne’s side had dropped just seven points since the turn of the decade heading into last Saturday’s clash at the AESSEAL New York Stadium.

With windy conditions and up against a free-scoring Rotherham United side - it was a clash many expected the home side to win.

“It was a very good point against top of the league,” Walsh told the media following the draw. “It wasn’t a very good game to watch, we had our backs against the wall in the second half. I think we defended very well though and earned the point in the end.

“We couldn’t play as much as we wanted to today, we had to go back to basics, defend as a team. We know we can play better - but we can't play really well every week."

Walsh continued, "It was windy, it was swirling around everywhere and we didn't know where the ball was going to end up, especially with their keeper kicking it long – it’s something we had to deal with."
