Sam and David pushing each other to be better

Striker discusses his relationship with fellow Academy graduate...

Both Sam Nombe and David Kasumu have enjoyed breakout seasons for MK Dons, with the former noting that the duo push each other to be the best player they can be.

The Academy pair have racked up a total of 54 appearances this season, with both Nombe and Kasumu stamping their mark on a first-team spot.

The youngsters have been together for a number of years now as they progressed through the Stadium MK ranks together before making the switch to roommates on away games for the first-team.

“It’s good to have someone to relate to but it’s also good to be alongside somebody who I know so well and have been with for so long.

“We’ve pushed each other every step of the way to try and establish ourselves in the first team. It’s a really good feeling when we’re on the pitch together. He’s my roommate too. He’s a bit quiet but he’s a funny character. We’re often playing Uno and battling it out. He’s done brilliantly this season – I’m proud of him.”

Both have become favourites among the MK Dons faithful, with Nombe thanking the Dons faithful for their “excellent” support.

“The supporters are excellent. To hear my name being chanted is a fantastic feeling. It always keeps me going and motivates me to work that little bit harder for them and the team. I will always try my best to give back to them with my performances on the pitch.”
