Russell Martin waxed lyrical over Rhys Healey’s stunning equaliser in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Rotherham United.
Healey scored his sixth goal in seven matches to secure MK Dons a point at the home of the Sky Bet League One leaders, and in some style too, latching onto a long ball forward from Joe Walsh before twisting and turning inside the area and firing home a left-footed strike.
“It was an amazing goal,” his manager said following the game. “Not many players in this league could have scored that!
“I thought the chance had gone at first, because he chopped inside and then out again – I thought we was going to take it earlier. He’s still managed to rifle it into the net and it was a brilliant finish.”
Martin added: “He’s a player that’s growing every week in terms of confidence and professionalism. It’s not just his goals that I’m pleased with – it’s the shift he puts in for the team and that can’t be underrated.”
