Jordan: We didn’t look like us

10 March 2020

Jordan Houghton says MK Dons didn’t look like the side they want to be in Saturday’s defeat to Doncaster Rovers.

Having dominated large spells of the game, the Dons were undone in the second half as Kayne Ramsey swept home from Jon Taylor cross.

The strike was enough to earn Darren Moore’s side all three points, and while Houghton believes it was a strong first-half showing from Russell Martin’s side, he added it was their performance in the second half that was most disappointing.

“Frustration is the point we take away from the game,” Houghton told the media following Saturday’s defeat at Stadium MK. “They came with a game plan and have gone away with a 1-0 win – fair play to them.

“The second half wasn't us, and not how we like to play. We like to control the first half and kick on to another level - we didn't do that.

“I don't think we had control of the second half. It's hard to say what it was, they had a few counters, played out a bit too easily, and that's where their goal came from.”

Houghton added, “There will be factors why we didn't continue our second-half performance, we'll look to improve and hope it doesn't happen again.”
