17 June 2020

MK Dons currently know 16 of their Sky Bet League One opponents for 2020/21, with the others to be determined as the EFL returns this week.

Thirteen League One teams remain from the 2019/20 campaign, while three sides have been promoted on a points per game basis from League Two.

On Monday 29th June, we’ll learn which of the four League Two Play-Off sides will be promoted to the third tier. The semi-finals get underway this Thursday evening with Exeter City taking on Colchester United and Northampton Town facing Cheltenham Town. The second legs then take place next Monday night.

Four days after the League Two Play-Off Final, the League One Play-Offs get underway with Portsmouth hosting Oxford United and Fleetwood Town welcoming Wycombe Wanderers to Highbury Stadium. The second legs then take place on Monday 6 July ahead of the Final on July 13.

Then there is the matter of relegation from the Championship. Three teams will drop from the second tier into League One for 2020/21, with Barnsley, Luton Town and Charlton Athletic all currently occupying those relegation spots although only three points separate the Addicks and 17th spot. The final day of the Championship season is set for Wednesday 22nd July.
