Northampton Town will join MK Dons in Sky Bet League One next season, after the Cobblers sealed promotion via the League Two Play-Offs.

Keith Curle’s side, who came from 2-0 down to beat Cheltenham Town in the semi finals, beat Exeter City 4-0 at Wembley Stadium on Monday night to secure a return to the third tier for the first time since 2018.

They will join Russell Martin’s men in League One for 2020/21, becoming the Dons’ 17th confirmed opponents for the upcoming campaign.

The Sky Bet League One Play-Offs get underway this Friday night, with Portsmouth hosting Oxford United and Fleetwood Town welcoming Wycombe Wanderers to Highbury Stadium. The second legs then take place on Monday ahead of the Final on July 13.

The final day of the Championship season is set for Wednesday 22nd July.
