Dons add full-back Daniel from Ayr

Scotland Under-21 international becomes second summer signing...

27 July 2020

MK Dons have signed highly-rated young full-back Daniel Harvie from Ayr United.

Harvie, 22, joins for an undisclosed fee following the full opening of the summer transfer window.

He becomes Russell Martin’s second capture of the summer, following the re-signing of striker Carlton Morris on loan from Norwich City.

“I’m buzzing to be here,” the Scotland Under-21 international told iFollow MK Dons after completing his medical at Stadium MK. “It took a while to get done due to the circumstances but I’m over the moon that it’s gone through.

“I heard MK Dons were interested and I spoke to the gaffer, who sold it to me straight away. The Club wants to progress and grow, and I want to be a part of that.”

He added: “I’m an attacking full-back who likes to be aggressive and defend as well as I go forward. I’ll always make sure I work hard up and down the pitch.”

Harvie began his career with Aberdeen and made his senior debut as a substitute in a Scottish Premiership fixture with Partick Thistle in March 2016.

The left back, who joined Ayr United in July 2018, has since gone on to make 116 senior club appearances, while he has also totalled 22 international caps for Scotland at every youth level from Under-15s through to Under-21s.

He also has 14 career goal contributions courtesy of four goals and 10 assists.
