Russell Martin is hopeful that Conor McGrandles can return to action this weekend.
McGrandles, who has been involved in a team-high eight goals this season, missed Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Rochdale due to a foot injury but Martin is expecting his midfielder to be fit in time to face Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday at Stadium MK.
“Conor has a whack on his foot but the hope is that he will be back on Saturday,” the manager said after the victory over Rochdale.
“He tried to train [on Monday] but it was too sore. He was due to start but he held his hands up and said he couldn't give us everything. As I said, though, hopefully he’ll be back at the weekend.”
Striker Joe Mason was also absent from the line-up in midweek and Martin confirmed it was due to a muscle problem.
“Joe has tweaked a muscle but he shouldn't be out for long. Thankfully, it's not too bad and we'll hopefully have him back in the squad as soon as possible.”
