Cal: Improvement in play under Russ is clear to see

15 January 2020

Callum Brittain has labelled the improvement MK Dons have made under Russell Martin as ‘outstanding’ before adding coming away from Burton unrewarded was ‘frustrating’.

The Dons came away from The Pirelli Stadium having dominated the Sky Bet League One clash with over 70% possession and 19 shots on goal.

Brittain was one out of the standout performers in the defeat, with manager Russell Martin heaping praise upon his right-back for his energetic performance.

The 21-year-old also spoke highly of his manager following the game, noting how far MK Dons have come under Martin in such a short space of time.

“If you remember back to when Burton came to Stadium MK, they absolutely battered us.” Brittain told the local media “For it to change that quickly,  and to come here and dominate like that, it shows how much has changed, how much we've grown in confidence and how much better we are playing.

“The change has been outstanding, hopefully, we can stay confident and we can get back on track on Saturday.

“We are frustrated - but it's positive as well. Not many teams will come to Burton and dominate like we did. To not score is so frustrating.

“We've all sat down and asked how we haven't scored. There’s are positives to take from it and we need to take them into Saturday.”
