Boss praises four of his stand-outs from Tuesday's draw with Lincoln City...

Manager Russell Martin had praise for several of his standout performers in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Lincoln City.

MK Dons shared the spoils with the Imps at the LNER Stadium, after Liam Bridcutt cancelled out a stunning third-minute free-kick from Rhys Healey.

The striker was one of the four players mentioned by Martin post-match, along with midfielder Alex Gilbey, defender Regan Poole and substitute Ben Reeves.

“He was excellent,” Martin said of Healey in his interview with the media following the game.

“Ryan Harley turned to me before he took it and said he fancied him to score [his free-kick]. Rhys has been trying those in training and it’s great to see that what we're doing in training translates into games.”

Martin continued: “Alex Gilbey was outstanding and he deserved a goal. He's disappointed not to have scored at the end. It would have been the icing on the cake for him and a brilliant goal to win the game, but overall he was excellent.

“Regan was really, really good too. It is not easy coming into the game after being out for so long. He’s showed us his attitude, application and his character every day in training and that's why he turned in a performance like that.

“Reevesy has had to be patient. He’s had a couple of knocks and come in and out but I was really pleased with him. He helped us get control of the game after it became a bit ‘you attack, we attack’ and made a couple of really nice passes in that final third. He showed us what we know he’s capable of.”

Martin added: “We're at a point now where anyone can come in play and when they do come on and they make an impact when they do play. It’s great to have that impact from the bench.”
